Roll up, roll up, it's that time again. The South London event of the season. The Ruskin Park Summer fete 2018, hosted by the Friends of Ruskin Park and supported by us at Urban Village.
Here are just some of the highlights for the best family festival in town.
For music lovers
Music fans will be spoilt for choice with harmonies coming from all corners of the planet. Take a trip to South America with the Corazon Cuestino band, an Anglo-Peruvian brass band, guaranteed to help you shake off your British reserve and start dancing. Look out too for the The Champion Hillbillies, the greatest Americana covers band to be found in Camberwell and The Merry Makers, a 'ball room orchestra'.
Choirs your thing? There are three. Youthful tunes abound from the Dog Kennel Hill School and St Saviour's school. And not to be missed is the almighty Cambria choir who are singing a range of melodies including everything from Dolly Parton to The Bee Gees by way of an African tribal song.
For animal lovers
Which child doesn't love a donkey ride? There will be an opportunity to handle some of our feathered friends too - beautiful tawny and white barn owls to name a few.
Or for the brave, hands up who want to hold a snake?
For craft lovers
Get tattooed up without the guilt at the Henna stand, have a go at designing the next big thing in craft, or keep the kids happy with some face painting.
For food lovers
No burnt bangers here. Top notch fare is provided by the Gourmet Sausage Co. Sample mouthwatering galettes, delicious cakes and sweet treats worthy of the Great British Bake Off. Thirsty? Wash it down with some excellent craft beer from Clarkshaws Brewery or that classic drink of the British summer - Pimms.
For thrill seekers
Plus, brand new this year is the chance to fly through the skies on a trapeze with the Flying Trapeze school. A thrilling addition to a much loved summer event. There really is something for everyone. See you at the beer tent.
