It’s our 10th Anniversary

Celebrating 10 years of Urban Village

Ten years ago, Suzanne Vincent founded Urban Village Homes, and in that decade, we have gone from new player to established trusted name in the South London property market.

Having begun her estate agency career in 1991, and having managed 10 sales offices across London, Suzanne had a vision of a more personal estate agent which was deeply connected to and embedded in the community it served with honesty and warmth. So, she founded Urban Village to make that vision a reality.

‘A neighbourhood isn’t a collection of homes and people who live in them — community is a way of life, and it’s one that we are always part of. Our business is helping people to buy, sell and rent homes, but our purpose is to build, maintain, and support the thriving communities — the urban villages — that make South London great.’

For us, just being an estate agent is not enough, and whether that’s campaigning to keep Ruskin Park Paddling Pool open, sponsoring the Ruskin Bark Dog Show, or leading by example with emission-free travel to our properties and viewings, we are always looking for ways to serve the communities we love.

The Urban Village approach to property

It’s easy to say that you’re a more personal estate agent, but how do we walk the walk?

Firstly, because of our connection to the areas we serve, we have deep local knowledge which helps us to find the right homes for buyers and renters and the right buyers and renters for sellers and landlords. To us, it’s not just about getting the deal done — it’s about helping people navigate one of the potentially most stressful times in their lives and look back happily at their choices.

We are also committed to exceptional customer service, with fair and transparent fees — buying, selling, and renting can feel uncertain enough without estate agents who deal in nasty surprises.

Our people

Of course, we wouldn’t have got to where we are today without our fabulous team. These are the people who make Urban Village the partner that it is.

Suzanne, our founder, wanted to deliver a more bespoke approach to estate agency, so that’s exactly what she did. Setting up Urban Village in 2015, she has been dedicated to her clients and her neighbourhood ever since.

“Urban Village are great. It's clear they have a deep understanding of the neighbourhood, and many of their agents live locally, which meant they could make recommendations and advice that went beyond just the property itself.” (Edward)

Sarah, our Office Manager, is an excellent listener and communicator, and a masterful negotiator, who sets up excellent sales and tenancies that everyone can be delighted with.

“The whole Urban Village team were amazing from start to finish, but shouts to Sarah and Natalie specifically who made a very stressful situation as easy as it could be. They truly went above and beyond any agent I have experienced in London and I can only recommend Urban Village to anyone fed up of the rental market in London and traditional estate agents.” (Mollie)

Natalie, our Senior Sales and Lettings Consultant, gets constant praise for her hands-on approach, sensitive communication, and ability to achieve the best price possible for our clients

“Natalie and the Urban Village Homes team were a breath of fresh air and sanity in the complicated home-buying process - friendly, relaxed, and great at communication. Was very happy to work with them and will work with them again in the future!” (Lucas)

Tyler, our Sales and Lettings Consultant, has a superb ability to qualify people’s needs and find the best solution to ensure the best outcomes.

I've had a very good experience with Urban Village. I worked closely with Tyler Connor who has been extremely collaborative and responsive all the way through the purchase of the house. An absolute pleasure to work with. Thank you!” (Alexia)

Kate is our dedicated Lettings Portfolio Manager, and is responsible for tenant and landlord liaison, overseeing existing tenancies and compliance, with a sensible approach to repairs.

“Really helpful service for the organisation of the rental of our flat, but mostly in the property management/maintenance team, particularly Kate who has helped throughout our tenancy. I’ve rented in London for the last 4 years and can confidently say this is the most helpful an agent has been for me during a tenancy in terms of responsiveness and general care for tenants.” (Joe)

Julie is Head of Compliance and Safety, providing our landlords and tenants with peace of mind and a keen eye on safety and care for our properties.

“From the get-go I got straight talking and honest advice. It’s all I wanted as it’s a nice contrast to the usual agent types who say what you want to hear. They were always on the ball, good at communicating and pushed the sale along. Can’t ask for more.” (R Kenny)

As we mark this incredible milestone, Urban Village Homes continues to uphold the values that have defined their first ten years: integrity, community engagement, and a passion for helping clients navigate the London property market.
